I am Janet Stevens. I illustrate children's books.

I would like to thank the children of Colorado for selecting The Great Fuzz Frenzy as the winner of the Colorado Children's Book Award for 2007! The awards that are voted on by children are very important to me. Thanks again!

My most recent books are Epossumondas Saves the Day, an exciting birthday cooking adventure, The Great Fuzz Frenzy, the story of what happens when a tennis ball rolls into prarie-dog town, Plaidypus Lost, the story of a great friend that a little girl can not keep track of.

My website features:
A story of my third grade Blue Jay Reading Group.

An Information Packet (PDF), a short history, and information about recent favorites and all of my books.

Things I like to draw, Animals I like to draw, Pictures from my first video conference, and How I Draw are in my Studio!

If you like the idea, or have suggestions, please let me know via e-mail (rhinoink@aol.com).

I am also working on sharing some work by kids in schools I have visited (although I am not visiting schools right now because I need more time to draw).

As those of you whom I have visited know, I love to draw bears. Check out my new Bear Page. If you have a version 4.x Browser and you want to experiment, try this version done with layers.

I am continuing to learn about the computer as a drawing tool. This shows how a draft of the cover of a new book was built in the computer from many layers. This is an animation of the process (could be slow to load the first time but you can reload to see it quickly after that).
